Our client is one of Europe's largest venture capital funds focusing on powerful and disruptive technology, who lay at the centre of the European technology ecosystem, partnering with ambitious, mission-driven founders. They are now looking to add a Fund & Portfolio Accountant to their Finance team, reporting and pitching their ideas and findings to the Finance Director alongside the leadership team, including the CEO.

You will be a highly quantitative and analytical individual, interested in the technology space, looking to utilise your experiences in a dynamic and collaborative setting. This role will require you to oversee third party fund accounting, whilst undertaking valuations and monitoring the portfolio to aid in the further expansion of the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the execution of accounting activities in relation to the fund financial and operating information, as well as fund related calculations
  • Prepare and review fund quarterly/annual financials and investor reporting
  • Assist with the annual audit process, liaising directly with external auditors and oversee fund administrators
  • Prepare carried interest calculations and management fee calculations in accordance with fund documentation
  • Update and maintain accurate and timely records in the portfolio monitoring and fund management system
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and review annual tax reporting, as required
  • Ensure that financial regulatory reporting is in accordance with local or international conventions, fund LPAs and accounting standards
  • Assist in preparing capital calls and distributions, with associated correspondence to investors
  • Oversee fund cash and liquidity, and manage bridge facility drawdowns and repayments
  • Produce valuation and accounting reports. Assist with portfolio monitoring and valuation of investments, and liaise with deal teams and portfolio companies as needed
  • Liaise with deal teams, investor relations and in-house legal counsel when making investments and divestments, providing support and performing analysis
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting for the Leadership team


YOUR PROFILE:

  • Qualified Chartered / Certified Accountant with a big 4 / top 10 firm, and preferably with audit experience gained regarding PE / VC firms or other types of investment managers
  • Excellent commercial judgement and analytical ability, and familiarity with PE / VC LPA’s and valuations
  • Compliance knowledge is a plus. Strong technical accounting and analytical skills, working knowledge of IFRS
  • High quality communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly proficient in Google Sheets/Excel, with strong modelling and analytical skills
  • High IQ and strong academic track record and a strong growth mindset
  • Out-of-the-box thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Agile and flexible approach with a ‘can-do’ approach and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong judgement and ability to think independently, use own initiative, and self-start proactively
  • A strong team player who puts the best interests of the firm and wider team before their own
  • High EQ, ability to build high quality relationships and work with various levels of management
