Our client is an innovative UK-focused investment manager investing across renewable energy, real assets and venture growth. They are looking to expand its fast-growing institutional sales team in London and hire a talented sales professional to take responsibility for business development across UK institutions.

This is an exciting role where you will be able to make a significant impact growing the institutional investor network across strategies. The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial salesperson with previous experience in the private markets, able to work independently and quickly build their own UK institutional client portfolio. Experience in the infrastructure and renewables space is a big plus.   • Actively reach out to UK institutional investors within and outside your network to introduce the firm’s platform and investment activities
  • Work with the team to deliver the day-to-day activities of the business development function and actively help build relationships with UK institutional clients
  • Project manage and respond in a timely and accurate fashion to incoming requests for information from institutional investors. Liaise effectively with other teams to produce required materials
  • Research specific market segments as required and deliver accurate assessment of investment requirements and appetite
  • Use your experience to suggest and create engaging content and marketing collateral to draw potential investors and facilitate an ongoing presence in the market
  • Manage CRM data and reports to ensure consistency and quality of information
  • Work on building out a regular schedule of marketing events for institutional clients and liaise with marketing and investment teams on delivering these
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to improve processes and materials
  • Research relevant UK institutional events and suggest which of these to prioritise


  • Experience and track record working in a UK focused institutional business development team for an asset manager or investment consultancy; experience presenting infrastructure investment products / renewable energy investments is a plus
  • Ability and interest in building out a successful business development function for a fast-growing asset manager
  • Disciplined sales approach, project management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency in the use of CRM software
  • Willing to travel to meet with clients in person
