PER is a leading recruiter, search provider and advisor to the private markets industry. We were founded 25 years ago by our MD Gail McManus and have now grown to a firm of over 70 people across offices in London, Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore and Mexico, with aspirations for further international expansion in the near term. Over the course of our 25 year history we have evolved to cover all aspects of the private capital space, with specialist consultant teams that are true experts in their own part of the alternatives universe we inhabit. This particular role will sit within our Investor Relations and Fundraising practice, one of the busiest and most successful parts of our business, and will enable you to become a truly trusted partner and advisor to some of the best respected brands in private markets.


What the job involves

  • Executing search mandates across all levels of seniority in the investor relations and fundraising space
  • Building and maintaining client and candidate relationships across the IR and Fundraising space, promoting PER and maintaining good external relationships, effectively winning mandates
  • Sourcing candidates through diligent research and your networks, mapping markets and delivering targeted, well thought through maps and long lists
  • Effective screening of candidates through face to face and online meetings to deliver highly screened shortlists
  • Production of material for client pitches using PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Executing required tasks efficiently and to PER standards
  • Working cooperatively with all colleagues, adding value to your team as well as the wider business

Who we are looking for

We are open to considering someone from a recruitment/search background, or someone from the private markets industry considering a change in their career.  If you come from search you should:

  • Be a high performer with demonstrable success at delivering search fees on mid-level and senior search mandates
  • Have had exposure to either or both of private equity and financial services recruitment
  • Be able to demonstrate sophisticated executive search research skills using LinkedIn, web and networks

If coming from another background, you should:

  • Have strong prior links to, or work experience from, the private marketd space
  • Have strong commitment to contacting and building relationships with candidates and clients
  • Hold yourself to high standards with immaculate attention to detail
  • Have an impeccable telephone manner and strong written communication skills
  • Be organised, methodical, resourceful, ambitious, consistent and reliable
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English, a second European language would be an advantage
  • Have a valid UK work permit
  • Be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for private markets investor relations and fundraising roles, and an interest in consulting with clients on a wide range of recruitment issues
