About our client
Our client is an established, well-known mid-market private equity firm that is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to join its team in London. This is a new, senior role within the firm that reflects the evolving business needs of the organisation.
The focus of the Director of Marketing and Communications will be the development and enhancement of the brand, setting the PR, marketing and communications strategy for the business and ensuring that all of the internal teams benefit from 'best in class' marketing and communications capability.
What the job involves
Build, lead and manage the Marketing and Communications team effectively, creating and nurturing a positive and productive working environment such that the team is a significant contributor to the success of the firm
Responsibility for all aspects of the marketing and communications strategy, including brand development and positioning and the creation of high quality and consistent collateral
Management of the website and marketing collateral re-design project
Responsibility for internal and external communications, digital programs and content, events, webinars, awards and speaking opportunities
Own and provide the framework of content and templates for all marketing material that underpins presentations and communications, ensuring consistency across the business
Manage all public relations, including managing the firm’s external partners, leading on any crisis communications as required
Responsibility for the firm’s digital presence, including website development and maintenance, social media strategy and content
Develop and manage the annual marketing and communications plan and budget for the firm and be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of marketing activities and spend
Who we are looking for
A degree is a prerequisite (not necessarily in marketing)
Experience of working within Private Equity, or in a similar investment focused firm is strongly preferred, including experience of marketing to and communicating with institutional investors
Experience of working at a senior level, probably across one or more PR/communications and/or general marketing role(s)
Experience of managing business-wide brand development projects that include multiple stakeholders
Confidence and credibility to liaise, report to and influence the most senior people/stakeholders in the business
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to balance individual autonomy with being collegiate: knows when to lead and when to be part of the team
