Financial Controller, Global Real Estate Fund, London, UK

Our client, a top-ranked global real estate investment fund, is looking to hire a Financial Controller to join its impressive London team. Established for over 30 years, the firm possesses an impressive portfolio consisting of industrial, commercial and residential properties across both the European and US market. The Financial Controller will be responsible for the accounting oversight of all UK real estate portfolios. Being a new position, the role will hold a lot of autonomy. On daily basis, you will be working very closely with the wider front office team and reporting into the US-based Senior Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant with experience in the real estate fund space to become an integral member of a very high-performing fund.

  • Track special purpose investment vehicle (SPV) financial progress reports
  • Prepare financial reports based on financial information received from SPVs
  • Oversight and coordination with our outsourced accounting provider in London
  • Monitor investment structures and SPVs
  • Oversee third-party appraisal firms on quarterly valuation reports
  • Effectively communicate with multiple parties including senior management, external auditors, bankers and tax accountants
  • Review and / or prepare financial reports for investor purposes both quarterly and annually
  • Track out-flows and in-flows
  • Oversee treasury and cash management
  • Control group’s intercompany flows and contractual relations
  • Review and / or prepare accounts for annual audits and periodical reviews
  • Coordinate with global offices on cash management, reporting and other operational matters

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Knowledge of real estate fund structures and capital and investment transactions
  • Experience with operational risk analysis, process improvement and end-to-end reviews
  • Must have excellent analytical skills in addition to strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of managing own workload and working independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
