About our client

Our client, a successful mid-market fund, are currently looking to hire a Compliance Manager for their Munich office. Having had an active influence in the European market for over 15 years, the fund is known as a reliable partner consistently increasing its investors returns.  The funds main area of focus is on investments into companies within the mid-market space, supporting them with capital, expertise and strategy implementation.
What the job involves

As the Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for a broad range of areas including prevention of money-laundering, data protection, antitrust, foreign trade regulations, and whistle-blower law. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced compliance professional with a background in the investment space to become an integral member of a high-performing team. Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Co-development of the new Regulatory Affairs department
  • Ensuring the funds is regulatory compliant and implementing a corresponding compliance management system
  • Researching, processing and evaluating compliance issues and conducting risk analyses
  • Independent management of the KYC process, considering all requirements and submission deadlines
  • Disclosure compliance and reporting obligations to the transparency register
  • Reporting / exchange with supervisory authorities, ensuring compliance with BaFin requirements
  • Supporting due diligence in compliance for corporate transactions
  • Establishment of reporting structures regarding ESG
  • Close cooperation with the General Counsel and external legal partners

Who we are looking for

  • Professional experience in compliance and/or money laundering prevention, ideally within the investment management space
  • Knowledge or interest in the private equity sector would be advantageous
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, strong implementation skills and cost awareness
  • Solution-oriented, economic and strategic-thinking with good judgement even in complex situations
  • The ability to analyse complex business processes, laws and regulations
  • Fluency in German and English (both verbal and written proficiency)
