About our client

Our client is a leading private markets investor building out its dedicated Technology Secondaries strategy, providing liquidity solutions to shareholders of category-leading European and American technology companies. Unlike a traditional secondaries role focused on LP portfolios or GP-led transactions, the strategy provides the opportunity to invest directly into leading technology companies.

This strategy forms part of a broader Secondary practice, which has raised and deployed four funds to date, and currently raising its fifth-generation vehicle. The team partners directly with founders, employees and early investors seeking liquidity, acquiring stakes in high-quality, late-stage technology businesses and providing flexible, tailored liquidity solutions to shareholders. Combining a global network with strong investment and execution capabilities, the team is now looking to add a proven late-stage / growth investor with a strong understanding of high-growth technology businesses, the entrepreneurial mindset and relationship-building skills to develop a highly differentiated sourcing and investment model.

What the job involves

The successful candidate will take ownership of the investment process on this thematic, from identifying and developing relationships with potential sellers through to transaction execution and portfolio monitoring.

• Origination: Develop and maintain relationships with founders, management teams, early investors, employees, venture capital investors and other shareholders across the European technology ecosystem
• Investment sourcing: Identify attractive secondary opportunities in category-leading technology companies, often through proprietary and relationship-driven channels.
• Transaction execution: Lead or play a central role in the evaluation and execution of secondary transactions, including investment analysis, valuation, structuring, due diligence, negotiations and coordination of external advisers
• Investment underwriting: Assess companies from both a financial and strategic perspective, developing a deep understanding of business models, competitive positioning, growth drivers, unit economics and potential exit scenarios
• Founder / shareholder solutions: Develop creative liquidity solutions tailored to the needs of founders, employees and early investors, including partial liquidity, structured transactions and bespoke secondary purchases

Who we are looking for

• Relevant investment experience in venture capital / growth equity, and/or secondaries, with a track record of evaluating and executing investments with meaningful exposure to start ups. Experience working on transactions involving founders, management teams or other shareholders would be highly relevant
• Demonstrated ability to assess high-growth companies and develop a differentiated investment view backed by strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the credibility to engage directly with founders and senior executives. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop a proprietary network over time
• Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset – someone comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive
• Fluency in English; additional European languages would be advantageous
