About our client

Our client is an independent and entrepreneurial provider of private equity capital. It backs fast-growing, cash-generative UK businesses led by ambitious and dedicated management teams. The firm focuses on businesses in unique, defensible, market niches in the UK lower mid-market. The partners have backed more than 55 entrepreneurial businesses over the past 20 years, 49 of which have been sold, demonstrating a strong record of successful and profitable exits. 
 
The team is small, independent and entrepreneurial. This allows quick, transparent decisions and close engagement from first meeting through to exit. They have deep experience in the UK lower mid-market and in working closely with management through periods of rapid growth.  
What the job involves

  • This is a unique opportunity for an established investor relations professional to work on a part-time basis; likely two to three days per week
  • Building close relationships with the firm's existing investor base of high-net-worth individuals and small family offices with proactive engagement
  • Gaining in-depth knowledge of the firm's deal types and structures to effectively communicate the teams strategy and investment opportunity
  • Identifying and approaching new LPs aligned with the deal-by-deal fundraising model, leveraging networks to expand the investor pool
  • Pitching and selling specific deals to investors, preparing tailored materials and supporting commitments on a per-deal basis
  • Handling investor reporting and communications, as well as project managing investor events and the AGM 
Who we are looking for

  • Experience in investor relations, fundraising, or private equity, preferably with deal-by-deal or lower mid-market exposure
  • Strong understanding of UK private equity and investor preferences for SME investments
  • Excellent networking, communication, and pitching skills for sophisticated audiences
  • Flexibility for a permanent but part-time arrangement, with a mixture of home and office based work 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit suited to a small and dynamic team environment
