About our client

Our client is a leading German platform in the financial services and insurance sector. The group provides smart IT solutions and high-quality support services to more than 35,000 independent brokers, enabling them to focus on client advisory and increase productivity. The group continues to pursue an ambitious growth strategy combining strong organic expansion with targeted acquisitions.

They bring together several well-established businesses, including one of Germany’s largest broker pools and a major broker network, as well as a provider of one of the market-leading broker management systems. Key central functions are bundled at group level in a shared services structure.

As part of its next phase of growth, the group is strengthening its M&A capabilities and is looking to appoint an M&A Manager, ideally based in Munich, with some flexibility for other locations.

What the job involves

  • Deal sourcing & evaluation: Proactively identifying and approaching potential acquisition targets within the insurance and insurance technology sector
  • End-to-end transaction management: Taking full ownership of the M&A process, including valuation, financial and commercial due diligence, SPA negotiations and closing. Managing multiple transactions in parallel with pragmatic prioritisation
  • Due diligence: Validating new M&A opportunities through detailed review of financial and commercial assumptions, identifying key risks and value creation opportunities
  • Post-merger integration: Supporting and project managing the commercial integration of acquired businesses, including the development and execution of value creation and integration plans
  • Stakeholder management: Confident communication with external sellers, entrepreneurs and brokers, as well as close collaboration with senior management and the financial sponsor
  • This is a highly hands-on role within a lean structure, requiring a proactive approach and the ability to independently drive transactions forward

Who we are looking for

  • Mulitple years of relevant professional experience in M&A, gained in transaction advisory (e.g. Big 4), investment banking, private equity, or in-house M&A within the insurance sector
  • Strong expertise across the full M&A lifecycle, including valuation, financial and commercial due diligence, and SPA negotiations (experience in Financial Due Diligence is advantageous)
  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in lean and fast-moving environments
  • Strong communication skills and market presence, with the confidence to engage with entrepreneurs, senior executives and investors
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under pressure
  • High level of ownership, resilience and pragmatic approach
  • Fluency in German and English is essential
  • Prior exposure to the insurance or insurance technology sector is a plus
