About our client

Our client is a global investment firm with several billion in capital commitments, specialising in software and technology. It has become one of the leading and most active tech investors in Europe. The team has a strong track record of creating value through strategic and operational expertise. It often invests in businesses in fragmented industries with potential for consolidation.
What the job involves

Our client is looking for a senior associate or vice president to lead its business development in the DACH region. The role is based in Munich, with regular travel across DACH and to London. 

  • Being part of the DACH tech, M&A and private equity ecosystem: well connected, well respected and always informed about upcoming deals and investment situations
  • Sourcing and originating new platform investments in the region, as well as add-on opportunities for the existing portfolio
  • Leading the full origination cycle as a key member of the firm’s European origination strategy, from identifying potential investments to calls and meetings with bankers, management teams and founders
  • Supporting the deal team with deal dynamics and market intelligence
  • Managing and growing relationships with partners and intermediaries across Europe, and forging new strategic relationships
  • Owning the proprietary, outbound part of the pipeline and building long-term relationships with target companies
Who we are looking for

  • Experience in a similar origination role in private equity or growth capital, or investment banking
  • A strong network across the DACH deal community, ideally in technology and software
  • Credibility and gravitas to represent the firm in the market
  • Strong EQ and good commercial acumen
  • An entrepreneurial, proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, close-knit team
  • Fluent German and English
