This newly created role has been designed to address execution challenges and successfully navigate the operational complexities that follow a merger within a high-growth, successful firm.

Partnering closely with the CEO, the Chief of Staff / COO will design and embed physical, digital, and fully automated processes, alongside clear accountability structures. A core focus will be building a strong second layer of leadership to sustain long-term operational excellence, while progressively freeing the CEO from day-to-day operational involvement to focus on strategic priorities.

Who we are looking for

  • Strong academic background, ideally in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, production engineering, or similar; natural sciences also considered / business background only with strong technical interest and understanding
  • Minimum of 3 years in a top management consulting firm, ideally together with start-up or PE-owned mid-sized experience in a rapid scaling or restructuring situation
  • Smart, ambitious, and humble with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Highly self-reflective, able to acknowledge personal weaknesses, and focused on long-term development of people at all levels
  • Strong personal drive, team-oriented ambition, and exceptional work ethic with a hands-on mentality
  • Persistent: A personality who does not let go until things work; excellent at bringing structure to chaos while keeping oversight
  • Initial leadership experience: Exposure to high mix/low-volume or customer specific products is a strong plus
  • Preferred locations: Munich, Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Ruhr area / Aachen with the willingness to travel 3–4 days / week on-site per location
  • Native-level German speaker, fluent in English
