About our client

Our client is an investment management company focused on lodging real estate investments in Mexico with properties in the broader Caribbean region. The company is sponsored by a private equity manager committed to building the best-in-class real estate platform in Mexico. They are looking for an Accounting Manager who can be a meaningful contributor to the firm’s success by being able to prepare financial statements accurately and on time, assist in budget preparation and analysis, among others. The position is based in Mexico City.

What the job involves

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements analysis and reports
• Manage the monthly financial report consolidation process
• Assist with the preparation and monitoring budgets, forecasts and projections
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
• Assist with annual audit preparations
• Take ownership in the investigation and resolution of audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
• Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
• Review accounting records of subsidiaries and affiliates
• Maintain accurate controls of asset depreciation, construction in progress and Capex projects of properties under management

Who we are looking for

• Relevant experience including work with an established audit and/or accounting firm and/or real estate/ hospitality private equity or hotel management company. Hotel experience strongly recommended
• Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations and GAAP
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems such as MRI, SAP, among others
• English full professional proficiency
• Strong analytical skills and ability to perform high-quality work on deadline
• Willingness to travel
