About our client

We are representing an exceptional opportunity with a leading investment office in Dubai, seeking a Director of Investment Operations to play a pivotal leadership role in the growth of the business. In this role, you will partner closely with senior management to provide strategic oversight across portfolio analytics, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, technology, and investment operations. You will drive process improvements, enhance data analytics capabilities, and foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure a best-in-class performance framework. The role will also involve maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

This is a high-impact role that will require full relocation to Dubai.
 

What the job involves

  • Provide strategic insights to senior management based on portfolio performance, risk exposure, cash flow trends, and market intelligence
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key service providers, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services
  • Oversee all investment operations across the organisation, supporting investment, finance, legal, and compliance functions in line with international best practices
  • Execute portfolio rebalancing activities, including redemptions and subscriptions, in accordance with the firm’s asset allocation strategy
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounting and cash flow data used in calculating overall portfolio performance
  • Administer and monitor loan facilities and credit lines, ensuring appropriate utilisation, interest tracking, and accurate reporting
  • Manage onboarding and account opening processes with brokers and custodians for new markets
  • Lead the wind-down or liquidation of investment structures as required
  • Oversee and approve fund valuations, NAV calculations, capital account statements, investor reports, financial statements, and regulatory filings
  • Manage the quarterly NAV reporting cycle and reconcile any discrepancies
  • Ensure full documentation, audit readiness, and compliance with all regulatory obligations for investment activities
  • Coordinate tax compliance and filings for SPVs across multiple jurisdictions in collaboration with external tax advisors
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing operation of private asset monitoring systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and workflow efficiency
  • Continuously review and enhance operational processes and reporting through automation, policy development, and system upgrades to improve efficiency, transparency, and risk mitigation

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (required)
  • Qualified accountant; a Master’s degree or MBA is a strong advantage
  • Fluent in English
  • In-depth knowledge of various investment vehicles
  • Proven expertise in managing investment operations functions with a strong background in fund accounting, performance measurement, and reporting
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and key financial performance metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, aligning with organisational objectives while fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks, with the ability to implement controls to safeguard investments
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards, ensuring operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Skilled in analysing large volumes of financial data, generating actionable insights, and producing accurate, timely reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies
  • Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to engage senior management, external partners, service providers, and clients, providing clear communication and managing expectations
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring transparency and alignment with internal teams, senior executives, external vendors, and regulatory bodies
