About our client

Our client, is a rapidly growing IT services provider, backed by a leading international investor and positioned as an independent platform with strong ambitions for expansion across Germany’s Mittelstand. With a comprehensive offering the business benefits from a differentiated one-stop-shop model and a strong regional footprint. 

They are now entering a phase of accelerated inorganic growth and are looking to appoint a Head of M&A to lead deal origination, execution, and strategic initiatives. While they can be flexible with the location, ideally the candidate would be based near Frankfurt or Düsseldorf.

What the job involves

  • Building and developing a strong, sustainable pipeline of acquisition opportunities across the German Mittelstand IT services landscape
  • Managing M&A transactions end-to-end, from initial sourcing through due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration planning
  • Acting as a trusted counterpart to founders and entrepreneurs, guiding them through the process and strengthening the client’s presence in the market
  • Taking full ownership of the M&A process with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
  • Working closely with the CEO, board, and investors to shape the inorganic growth strategy
  • Growing and developing the M&A team as the platform scales

Who we are looking for

  • Several years of experience sourcing and executing deals ideally in the mid-market, gained in a private equity fund or the M&A team of a PE-backed portfolio company
  • Proven track record in building proprietary deal pipelines and successfully closing transactions, ideally in the IT services/technology sector
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trust with German founders and entrepreneurs
  • A natural networker with an entrepreneurial, results-driven mindset and high personal drive
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and commercial skills, with strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Fluency in German and English
