About our client

Our client, a rapidly expanding investment holding of significant size in the software sector, backed by a high-calibre private equity fund with a strong growth trajectory are currently looking for an M&A Manager to support the origination and execution of M&A deals with an investor mindset. 
They are looking to acquire several companies per year across Europe (historical average of 5 per annum) to achieve their inorganic growth goals. We are looking for a diligent and determined professional with the highest quality standards, who will take ownership of multiple workstreams of transactions in cooperation with the M&A Team. 
This opportunity comes with high autonomy and a corresponding steep learning curve, as you will drive transaction independently and will support the wider M&A.

What the job involves

  • Supporting the development of the acquisition pipeline and sourcing own deal leads
  • Managing M&A transactions in cooperation with the M&A team
  • Ownership of individual workstreams on M&A projects and managing smaller transactions independently
  • Plan, execute and lead due diligence processes
  • Develop business case proposals
  • Prepare market research and identify potential acquisition targets
  • Compile investment committee memos
  • Build and maintain relationships internally and externally

Who we are looking for

  • Multiple years of full-time experience in private equity, M&A, or corporate development, ideally in a small-/midcap PE firm or PE-backed portfolio company. Alternatively multiple years of experience in a mid-market M&A boutique, investment bank or transaction services. Experience with software deals is appreciated, but not necessary
  • Proven track record of executing M&A deals 
  • Independent, hands-on working mentality and a strong commercial skillset
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling, communication and presentation skills
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented mindset and an analytical thinking & data-driven approach
  • Fluency in German and English
