We are working with a recognized international real estate fund that seeks a Head of Accounting and Compliance for its operating entity in Mexico - a fully integrated development company focused on vertical residential properties in Mexico. The position is based in Mexico City.

What the job involves

Oversee the company’s accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and compliance areas
Comply with reporting and tax filing obligations of local, state, and federal governments
Build and maintain robust financial systems, internal controls, and risk management practices
Implement accounting policies and procedures and deploy the Company’s ERP system; suggest improvements to policies or procedures that will enhance financial results
Prepare periodic financial reports and maintain accurate and complete accounting records, ensuring that all financial information is properly recorded to guarantee the timely delivery of reports
Develop models for assessing risks in portfolio investments
Enhance controls and budgets to ensure accurate reporting under US GAAP
Create monthly reports for the executive team, along with quarterly and annual financial statements
Carry out monthly reviews and supply data to outside auditors for verifying and overseeing the financial status of the fund
Ensure payroll and debt payments are made on time
Timely processing of accounts payable and receivable

Who we are looking for

Experienced in financial accounting, with expertise in both Mexican and US GAAP, including fixed asset and cost capitalization (CIP/WIP)
Demonstrated experience in an accounting and compliance role for a PE fund or real estate company and/or a multinational company, ideally in the manufacturing sector
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field; Master´s preferred
Knowledge of SAP and IFRS
Advanced Excel with strong analytical, management and numerical skills
Process and procedural oriented with keen attention to detail
Proactive problem solver, always with a sense of urgency
Outstanding leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English is a MUST
