About our client

Our client is a fast-growing international healthcare group headquartered in Switzerland, specialising primarily in the oncology sector and backed by a mid-market private equity investor. The group has expanded significantly through acquisitions and geographic growth and today operates across multiple European markets, with Germany representing a key strategic market.

The company is now entering an exciting next phase of growth and is looking for a Finance Director Germany to play an active role in shaping this journey. The German business comprises several outpatient treatment centres and one hospital, creating a complex, multi-entity environment with ambitious growth plans, increasing operational complexity and an active M&A agenda.

This is more than a traditional finance leadership role. As a newly created and highly visible position, the Finance Director Germany will have the opportunity to actively shape and further develop the finance organisation and contribute to the future growth of the German business. The role offers close interaction with the CEO Germany and Group Finance Director, significant exposure to senior management and the opportunity to contribute directly to key strategic and operational decisions.

Beyond the professional challenge, the role combines the pace and entrepreneurial spirit of a private-equity-backed growth company with the opportunity to work in a purpose-driven sector that delivers critical healthcare services.  The position can be home-office based or based at one of the company’s centres, with regular travel across Western Germany.

  • Overall responsibility for financial leadership of the German operations: budgeting, forecasting, performance management and financial planning
  • Acting as a sparring partner to the CEO and centre management teams to ensure delivery of financial and operational targets, including driving selected cross-centre efficiency initiatives
  • Preparing the annual budget together with centre management and developing accurate bottom-up forecasts aligned with the overall business strategy and financial targets
  • Proactively analysing financial and operational performance, identifying deviations and translating findings into clear insights and actionable recommendations for management
  • Preparing, presenting and communicating business and financial analyses at senior management level
  • Cash and liquidity management across the German entities, including monitoring of interest, dividend and intercompany flows

Who we are looking for

  • Strong academic background in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field

  • Strong controlling and performance-management expertise, with the ability to translate financial and operational data into meaningful business insights and actions
  • Exposure to M&A and integration processes is a plus
  • Ideally, experience in a PE-backed, buy-and-build or otherwise acquisitive mid-market environment
  • Hands-on and pragmatic, able to move from strategic oversight to detailed execution, while effectively managing outsourced partners
  • Strong business partner mindset, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build credibility with medical professionals
  • Comfortable in a lean, mid-market environment rather than a large corporate setting
  • Fluent German and business English required
