About our client

Our client is a global private equity fund with a solid presence in the industrial real estate throughout Mexico. The fund has created an exciting new position as a Controller. You will have an opportunity to lead a team overseeing day-to-day operations. The role is based in Monterrey.

What the job involves

• Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly, and year-end financial statements under IFRS
• Ensure timely reporting of all monthly and annual financial information
• Manage the monthly and annual audit reports and documents
• Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process
• Track payments against budget and forecasts
• Review and analyse existing policies and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
• Create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to senior management
• Review compliance reporting
• Supervise and develop staff (establish performance standards and expectations for staff and review work assignments both in-progress and when completed)
• Manage external consultants, service providers, and commercial counterparties, including auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors

Who we are looking for

• Solid experience in accounting management, tax and/or financial reporting. Knowledge of the real estate sector is desirable
• Ample knowledge about IFRS, international accounting, MEX GAAP, and tax
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Experience building and leading high performing teams
• Exceptional interpersonal and team leadership skills
• Fluency in English is mandatory
