About our client

Our client, a global private markets investment firm are currently looking to hire a Legal Counsel to join their London based private equity team. The firm, which invests globally across a number of alternative asset classes, have an outstanding track record to date.  Due to this success, they are growing as a firm and have a large number of deals lined up for the coming year. They now require a Transaction Counsel to join the team during this exciting and busy time.

What the job involves

As the Legal Counsel, you will be working as part of a small but very high performing London team. On the day to day, you will work very closely with the private equity investment professionals, allowing some great commercial exposure, whilst also liaising with the global based legal team on broader matters. Within the role, you will immediately be afforded plenty of responsibility, providing commercial and strategic legal support.

• Negotiate and advise on the firm’s private equity transactions
• Lead on the drafting and negotiation of documents relating to the current portfolio and investment vehicles
• Structure client mandate documentation and the on-boarding process
• Liaise with and manage external Legal Counsel
• Provide advice on non-transaction related legal documentation
• Work collaboratively with the wider team across compliance, finance, tax, and risk

Who we are looking for

• Qualified Lawyer with significant private equity transaction experience
• Previous secondment or in-house experience would be advantageous
• Proven experience working on Limited Partner investments
• Proven experience with fund investment or co-investment 
• Experience of working on cross-boarder transactions on a range of deal sizes
• Experience of multiple private market strategy transactions would be advantageous
• Comfortable working across multiple time zones and having out of hours calls
