Our client is a pan-European, first-time fund backed by institutional investors, targeting established, profitable companies across the continent that contribute to European resilience in the defence, cybersecurity, and infrastructure protection businesses, with EV up to €600m.
The fund’s mission is to invest strategically to strengthen regional security and advance technological sovereignty.
What the job involves
As a Director, you will play a key leadership role, acting as a bridge between the founding partners and the execution team, leading transactions from origination through to portfolio value creation and exit.
Deal origination & sourcing across Europe, engaging with Advisors and representing the firm in market and networking events
Lead deal evaluation and due diligence processes (commercial, financial, legal, operational). Oversee financial modelling, valuation, and deal structuring
Negotiate key transaction terms with management teams, co-investors, and advisors. Prepare and present investment proposals to the Investment Committee
Partner with management teams to drive value creation, serve on portfolio company boards, monitor performance, support exit planning and execution
Who we are looking for
Relationship-building and networking: fundamental aptitude to human interaction and comfortable with defence sector/value chain
Drawn to the opportunity to build and scale an investment platform, with meaningful exposure to building the franchise, establishing credibility with LPs, and shaping how the fund operates
Proven execution experience: leading all due diligence streams, negotiated SPA/SHA, project management discipline to coordinate advisors and internal teams through the deal lifecycle
Entrepreneurial mindset: Takes initiative and thrives in dynamic and competitive environments
Value creation oriented: ability/willingness to work with portfolio companies to drive operational improvements and strategic growth
International experience: Comfortable working across geographies and regulatory environments. Sensible to cultural nuances in deal negotiations and management
