About our client

Our client, a leading UK multi-strategy investment firm, is looking to appoint a legal counsel to join its high performing legal team, with a focus on fund transactions. The firm invests across a range of asset classes, including private debt, venture capital and public markets, and has seen strong recent performance and increased deal activity, driving the need to expand its legal function. This is a newly created position offering broad exposure across the firm's investment activities, with significant scope for development as the business continues to grow.

What the job involves

Within the role, you will provide legal support across multiple asset classes, covering a wide range of fund-based transactions as well as regular working in partnership with the wider legal and governance teams.

• Advise on a broad range of fund transactions across multiple asset classes
• Advising on activities relating to raising and managing third-party capital
• Providing advice on financial regulation and related legal matters
• Delivering general commercial legal advice within an in-house financial services environment
• Contributing to the development of legal know-how, knowledge-sharing and internal training
• Instructing and managing external legal counsel, overseeing advice and deliverables where required

Who we are looking for

• Solid fund transaction experience gained within private practice or in-house
• Strong technical knowledge of the private capital investment space
• Knowledge of financial regulation, transaction due diligence and investment structures
• Broad commercial legal capability, knowledge of public law would be advantageous
