About our client

Our client is a leading private equity firm, dedicated to creating value and driving growth across its portfolio of investments. With a strong team focused on entrepreneurial mindset and collaboration, they are now looking for a (Senior) Associate – Portfolio Monitoring & Analytics to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in portfolio oversight, building tools and processes, and supporting investment transparency. The role is based in Munich, Germany.

What the job involves

• Analysing and tracking portfolio company performance against financial plans and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Managing the onboarding process for new portfolio companies and ensuring efficient ongoing data collection in close collaboration with the companies
• Building and maintaining portfolio monitoring dashboards, financial models, and reporting tools to enhance visibility and decision-making
• Providing data and insights to the deal team, assisting with reporting to internal and external stakeholders
• Preparing and delivering monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc investment reports, including portfolio and valuation overviews for investment committees
• Compiling and maintaining company data for use in potential fundraising processes
• Liaising with the fund accounting team to ensure consistency of data between the accounting system and iLevel
• Assisting in regulatory reporting and working with external advisors and administrators to ensure compliance
• Handling routine and special reports on investments, portfolio performance, and market research

Who we are looking for

• Several years of experience in audit, tax, transaction services or private equity (ideally with Big 4 or similar background)
• A professional accounting qualification is a plus
• University degree with exposure to business and analytical subjects
• Prior exposure to private equity, portfolio monitoring, fund reporting, or PE valuation methodologies is highly desirable
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and willingness to become acquainted with new software tools
• Experience with portfolio monitoring tools and data automation is a plus
• Hands-on with a self-starter mentality with the ability to analyse issues and arrive to solutions independently
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent in both English and German
