About our client

Our client is a leading real estate development company with more than 40 years of industry experience, focused on social, middle-income, and residential housing projects. The company operates through a fully integrated business model, managing everything from project development to sales and commercialization. As part of its continued growth, the company is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Mexico City team in a key role focused on structuring, professionalizing, and leading the accounting function while strengthening financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards.
What the job involves

  • Lead the transformation and organization of the accounting function by implementing robust processes, internal controls, and best practices
  • Ensure full compliance with all monthly and annual tax obligations in an accurate and timely manner
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements and accounting report
  • Provide clear, reliable visibility into the company’s financial health to support executive decision making
  • Consolidate financial information across business units and operations
  • Drive financial analysis and generate actionable insights to support strategic planning and business performance
  • Identify, assess, and resolve accounting discrepancies, compliance gaps, and financial risks
  • Lead external audit processes and follow up on audit findings and recommendations
  • Promote continuous improvement of accounting systems, policies, and operational workflows
  • Manage account reconciliations, tax accounting, trial balances, and general ledger accuracy
  • Supervise payment scheduling, cash disbursements, and related financial controls
  • Mentor and develop the existing accounting team to strengthen capabilities and performance

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
  • Proven expertise in accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting within complex business environments
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations, SAT requirements, and statutory compliance obligations
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving process optimization, structure, and operational improvements
  • Hands on leadership style with a strong execution mindset and ability to operate both strategically and tactically
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and support decision-making
  • High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail in fast paced environments
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • High ethical standards and commitment to compliance, transparency, and financial integrity
  • Previous experience working with tax authorities (SAT) or within highly regulated industries is considered a strong plus
  • Prior experience within the real estate sector is preferred but not required
