Whilst reporting to the Senior Investment Controller, the Investment Controller has to ensure that deal structures are set-up and maintained, capitalisation and waterfall of the deals are properly reported and funding is ensured. They aim to continue their success story and expand their team. Currently, they are looking for an Investment Controller to join their office in Zug, Switzerland.
What the job involves

Whilst reporting to the Senior Investment Controller, the Investment Controller has to ensure that deal structures are set-up and maintained, capitalisation and waterfall of the deals are properly reported and funding is ensured. Liaising with international teams, external tax and legal advisors as well as administrators is an essential part of the job. The role will be a hands-on role and include some more manual finance tasks including organisation of payment runs, setting up of investment structures and opening of bank accounts. The Investment Controller also contributes to the quarterly reporting, runs and implements processes and takes on additional projects in the area of tax and compliance as needed.

  • Support during the execution phase of acquisitions by setting up the investment structure together with external tax and legal advisors as well as administrators
  • Set-up companies or supervise the set-up including the bank accounts and ensure internal approval of the structure
  • Interact with external advisors as well as the teams based in other countries throughout the deal process
  • Maintain reporting of asset classes and feed any changes into the internal system
  • Prepare fund flows and ensure capitalisation of the structure ahead of the closing
  • Take responsibility of the preparation of the financial statements and tax returns of the SPVs within the acquisition structure and ensure timely filings
  • Review funding documentation and ensure correct interpretation by external advisors and administrators
  • Oversee and organise regular payment runs
  • Keep project due diligence costs and report discrepancies
  • Determine and arrange funding of SPVs and support during cash upstreaming and exits
  • Maintain capitalisation tables for each deal and support during quarterly reporting with regard to the investment costs, ownership and waterfall
  • Support KYC requests from a structural perspective
  • Support during the year-end fund audits
  • Support monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reporting
  • Support the Senior Investment Controller with any tasks regarding compliance, reporting or operational improvement as required

Who we are looking for

  • Several years of experience in tax, audit or financial consulting (ideally with a Big4 firm)
  • Strong university degree with exposure to business and analytical subjects
  • Affinity for tax and accounting related questions and willingness to learn in that field
  • Previous exposure to private equity deals would be helpful
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Hands-on with a self-starter mentality
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and willingness to become acquainted with new software tools
  • Attention to detail, organized and takes initiative
  • Willingness to travel to the other offices in Germany, Italy and the UK on an occasional basis
  • Willingness to reach out from core responsibilities and assist where necessary
  • Fluent in English and German, Italian would be beneficial
