About our client

Our client is a rapidly growing IT services company specializing in SAP implementation and managed services across a wide range of industries. Over the past years, the company has delivered sustained double-digit organic growth and is now poised to accelerate its expansion in the DACH region and internationally, supported by a leading private equity investor. To professionalize the finance function and enable the next stage of growth, the company is seeking Head of Finance to join them.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for building scalable financial structures, advancing reporting and controlling, and steering the company’s financial strategy. This is a unique opportunity to join a young, dynamic team and actively shape a high-growth journey from an early stage. The position is based in the Mannheim region, Germany.

What the job involves

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives
• Act as a sparring partner to the founders and leadership team, driving professionalization while remaining hands-on in execution
• Take full ownership of core finance responsibilities, covering accounting, controlling, treasury, tax, financing, and (where relevant) legal
• Build and lead the finance and controlling functions in line with PE requirements, including financial planning, reporting, accounting, and operating KPI-based performance management to enable data-driven decision-making
• Develop and enhance Excel-based financial models and KPI dashboards; drive the introduction and adoption of professional tools including LucaNet
• Deliver timely, investor-grade reporting and serve as a key partner to both founders and the PE investor
• Manage relationships with banks and financial partners to secure financing and optimize working capital for growth and operations
• Support potential, strategically relevant M&A add-on transactions
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the private equity investor, board members, auditors, and tax advisors on all financial matters, ensuring transparency and effective communication

Who we are looking for

• University degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
• Several years of senior leadership experience in finance and controlling; experienced managers from Big4 or equivalent are also welcome
• Prior experience in a private equity-backed and/or IT services environment is advantageous
• Proven track record in scaling businesses; M&A experience is valued       
• Strong financial acumen combined with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
• Comfortable working in a small finance team at start and building the finance function over time
• Deep understanding of private equity dynamics, including KPIs, value creation levers and investor reporting requirements
• Strong technical expertise: advanced Excel skills are essential; LucaNet knowledge required
• Proactive leadership style with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to drive change while ensuring operational excellence
• Dynamic, collaborative team player with the ability to thrive in a young, ambitious organization
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both investors and operational teams
• Willingness to be based on-site
• Fluent in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
