About our client

Our client is a specialized private equity investor, known for their original approach to unlocking value in the European, UK, Nordic small-cap buyout market. Founded by seasoned private equity professionals with deep roots in the DACH and UK markets, the firm was established to offer institutional investors access to off-market, lower mid-market opportunities that are typically overlooked by traditional mid-large cap funds. Their strategy focuses on the "Independent Sponsor" & first-time fund led model, partnering with specialized operational experts and sector focused sponsors to execute complex buyouts rather than participating in standard competitive auctions. These transactions are predominantly sourced on a proprietary basis, requiring a proactive approach to networking within the sponsor ecosystem and the ability to identify high potential situations. Following the successful first close of their latest fund and a robust track record of capital deployment, they are keen to hire an Associate/Investment Manager and a Senior Associate/Associate Director to join their team in Zurich to support the execution of new transactions.
What the job involves

  • Supporting all aspects of the investment process: from sourcing, due diligence, to the execution of private equity transactions
  • Preparing detailed quantitative/qualitative analyses as well as investment memorandums to be discussed over regular investment committees
  • Engaging with the European Independent Sponsor and intermediary ecosystem to support the sourcing of proprietary, off-market opportunities
  • Assisting in the monitoring of the co-investment portfolio, including analysing quarterly reporting, tracking value creation plans, and supporting the internal valuation process

Who we are looking for

  • Relevant experience, ideally M&A within an investment bank
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and market information
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement with a strong command of the English language and one other European language, French or German speaking is a plus
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
