About our client

Our client has one of the strongest international brands in their part of the market, and their European offices have a terrific track record of new investments and realisations. The firm is on its way to raising its next European focused fund with an ambitious target. As a result, the firm is seeking to expand the lean and entrepreneurial team in Stockholm.

The size of the team means you will have fantastic exposure from the start, working on all aspects of the deal process from evaluation to sourcing, through analysis and execution to portfolio management. You will be exposed to deals across the Nordics and will also work closely with other European offices as well as with the US team; it’s a truly global organisation.

The firm has an open, down to earth and collegiate culture and has a proven record of developing their people long term. This represents an excellent chance to build a long-term career in private equity.

What the job involves

  • Completing thorough industry and deal-specific research
  • Preparing memoranda for investment committees and other internal audiences
  • Building robust and error-free financial models
  • Participating in company visits and management presentations
  • Supporting due diligence processes, including gathering and analysing financial, commercial, legal, accounting and tax company data, compiling industry and market research (desktop research, expert calls, etc.), coordinating advisors and organising data rooms
  • Producing analyses to evaluate add-on opportunities for existing portfolio companies
  • Supporting the preparation of 100-day plans to spearhead the strategic development of newly acquired companies
  • Processing portfolio company financial data
  • Preparing quarterly reports on portfolio companies for LP investor reporting purposes

Who we are looking for

  • The candidate will be fluent in English and a Nordic language
  • Relevant M&A experience from an international investment bank, management consultancy or a private equity house
  • Strong numerical skills and modelling skills are required such as an analytical and commercially driven mindset
  • Should be a self-confident, balanced individual who is able to look at business cases from different perspectives and offer considered solutions in a wider context
  • Must be able to work with a range of portfolio companies and other stakeholders
